Herna Verhagen, CEO of PostNL, said: "The urgent need to transform the current unsustainable business model at Mail in the Netherlands is clearly shown by the loss of €19 million over the first nine months of 2024, €15 million lower than last year."

PostNL reports Q3 2024 results

PostNL announced today that Herna Verhagen has decided to step down as CEO after the Annual General Meeting of shareholders on 15 April 2025. On that day, she will formally hand over her responsibilities and duties to Pim Berendsen, the current CFO.

The festive season is fast approaching, and PostNL is once again ready to deliver millions of extra parcels across the country. The largest delivery company in the Netherlands is well-prepared for this busy period, especially with Black Friday and Sinterklaas falling close together this year.

Festive season: PostNL is ready with extra delivery trips and ordering tips

Today, PostNL and 23 other postal organizations worldwide are participating in the sixth Green Postal Day. Together, they celebrate more than 15 years of global collaboration within the postal sector to reduce their impact on the climate.

From 1 January 2025, several inner cities in the Netherlands will enforce emission-free zones. Whether a car or van is allowed access to such a zone will depend on its emission category and hence on how much carbon the vehicle emits. PostNL has been investing in electrified deliveries for years and is ready and able to deliver parcels to inner city residents free of emissions. Not only is emission-free delivery better for the environment, it also contributes to the air quality and quality of life in the country’s inner cities.
