PostNL appoints Maurice Unck as Director of its Dutch mail business

The Hague, the Netherlands, 29 August 2023 – Today, PostNL announced that Maurice Unck will be appointed as Director of Mail in the Netherlands as from January 1, 2024. This appointment will also make him a member of PostNL’s Executive Committee.

Maurice Unck currently is General Manager and CEO of RET, a public transport company serving the Rotterdam region. Highly knowledgeable about the logistics sector, his previous positions have included Director of Business and Product Development at Dutch national railways NS. He was a member of the NS board before joining RET.

Maurice Unck will succeed Bob van Ierland, who has been with PostNL since 2002 in both operational and commercial positions – both domestic and international – across the company, and who has been a member of PostNL’s Executive Committee since 2017. After 21 years at PostNL, Bob decided to continue his career outside the company.

Herna Verhagen, CEO of PostNL: “Bob has been a major contributor to PostNL’s transformation, helping to design our international parcels business in a variety of roles, nudging HR towards a more agile way of working, and guiding our organisation in adopting measures necessary to adapt in a shrinking postal market in his capacity as Director of Mail in the Netherlands. Bob stands out for his eye for people and substance, and has been a great colleague to work with. I’m pleased to welcome Maurice on board with PostNL and wish Bob every success in his new endeavours.”
