The Hague court stops union actions at PostNL
Den Haag, 22 November 2022 - Today, the court of The Hague ruled that FNV, a union, has to call on its members not to participate in actions that do not comply with the conditions that PostNL had put in place to safeguard essential services such as medical deliveries and mourning mail and to ensure a safe work environment for employees. These conditions apply until 6 January 2023.
PostNL is pleased with this ruling. This week marks the start of the traditional peak season with Black Friday, to be followed by Sinterklaas en Christmas. PostNL will take additional operational measures to limit the impact of potential union actions as much as possible, so as to ensure that customers and consumers enjoy a wonderful festive season. In addition, PostNL will stay in close contact with customers in order to support them in delivering their mail and parcels in time to consumers.
Meanwhile, PostNL continues CLA negotiations with two unions, BVPP and CNV, this week. PostNL aims to reach labour agreements that are in line with the interests of employees and customers, that ensure that it remains an attractive employer and keep PostNL in a sound financial position in the long term.
