Transfer vehicle registration, buy an anonymous OV (public transport) chip card or fishing license

1. Ask the seller of the vehicle for:
   • the registration card and full registration code
   • or the original registration certificate (part 1B) and the transfer certificate (part 2 for vehicles from 1996 to 2004) or a copy of part 3 (for vehicles from 1995 and older).
2. Bring a valid form of identification (Dutch passport, driving license or identity card) to the PostNL point.
3. At the PostNL point, you will get the first part of the new registration code and an indemnification certificate. Keep the registration code securely and give the indemnification certificate to the former owner of the vehicle.
4. The registration card and the second part of your registration code will be sent to your registered home address. If the vehicle registration is in your company name, we will send everything to your company address as listed in the commercial register. You will usually receive this on the next delivery day.

You will need this code if you later want to sell, trade in, suspend or scrap your vehicle.
