Choose additional security when sending a parcel abroad
Need proof of sending and receiving? Send an insured parcel abroad. The parcel is personally delivered at the door after the recipient has signed. The contents are insured up to a maximum of €5,500 in case of loss or damage. This depends on the value of the goods in the parcel.
Go to a PostNL location near you. For a parcel outside the EU, you need to complete and include a customs form. You can request a form from the employee at the PostNL location. It is not possible to send an insured parcel to every country.
What if we cannot deliver the parcel to the recipient? Don't worry. The parcel will be automatically returned to you free of charge.
Use a seal bag to protect your parcel (if the size of the parcel allows it). This will make your parcel tamperproof. This is not mandatory, but we recommend it.

*Does your parcel weigh up to 10 kg but exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions? Then you will pay the rate of a parcel that weighs 10-23 kg.
